Celebrating Craig’s Double Win at the 2025 Survey and Spatial Awards
Each year, Survey and Spatial New Zealand (S+SNZ) celebrates the contributions of surveying professionals who raise the standard of our profession. Recently, S+SNZ held their 2025 Professional Excellence Awards which recognise outstanding contributions across various streams and specialties.
We are thrilled to share that Craig McInnes received not one, but two of the top honours of the night.
Recognised Across Two Years
Craig was honoured with the Cadastral Award for Professional Excellence. This award recognises Craig’s overall professionalism, leadership, and integrity across his career.
This recognition builds on his success in 2024, when Craig received the Silver Award for Cadastral Survey of the Year for the Pigeon Bay Road project.
Being acknowledged in back-to-back years, and in two different categories, is a remarkable achievement. The team is incredibly proud of Craig’s continued success.
The McRae Supreme Award – The Night’s Highest Honour
Craig’s success did not stop there. Selected from the winners of all six streams, he won the McRae Supreme Award – the highest honour of the night.
This award recognises the service and professional excellence of a member whose contribution has delivered significant benefit to S+SNZ and the surveying profession. It is the mark of influence, leadership, and service at the very highest level.
A Recognition of Skill and Service
Together, these awards reflect not only Craig’s technical skill, but also his leadership, integrity, and tireless effort to strengthen the cadastral profession and support the wider surveying community. His success is something that inspires us all, and we are proud to celebrate his achievements.
Reflecting on the recognition, Craig said:
“It is a real delight to be acknowledged by my peers in this way. These awards are not just about one person, they reflect the support of colleagues, mentors, and the profession as a whole.
I am proud to be part of such a dedicated community and look forward to continuing to contribute where I can.
